Mamaia Romanian pronunciation: [maˈmaja] is a resort on the Romanian Black Sea shore and a district of Constanța.
Considered to be Romania's most popular resort, Mamaia is situated immediately north-east of Constanța's city center. It has almost no full-time residents, being populated mostly during the summer.
Mamaia lies on a strip of land 8 km (5 mi) in length and only 300 m (330 yd) in width, between the Black Sea and Lake Siutghiol.
The beach season is at its best between mid June and early September, when average daytime temperatures range between 25 and 30 °C (77 and 86 °F). The water stays warm until mid autumn.

The AQUA MAGIC water park is arranged at the southern entrance to the Mamaia resort, near the Gondola station. Access to the water park is not directly from the main boulevard of the resort but from the parking area between the Perla and Aurora hotels. Built on a vast area and with a capacity of 3000 places, the Aqua Magic park was inaugurated in 2003, and since then it is the place where relaxation makes a good house with fun at maximum levels. Aqua Magic is provided with 14 modern aquatic installations thanks to which the day spent inside the park will be an unforgettable one. Water playground and Baby Pool are the main attractions in the area dedicated to children. Featuring colorful mini-slides, bubbling pools and story characters, this is the place where little ones will have fun, imagining stories with sailors and pirates. AQUARIUM - approx. distance 15 Km
It is located on the seafront, just in front of the imposing Constanta Casino Square. Inaugurated with great fast on May 1, 1958, the Constanta Aquarium was for a long time the first and only public institution of its kind in our country. The building that houses the Aquarium, was built at the beginning of the 20th century as the annex of the Casino Square and functioned as a restaurant until its refurbishment for the current destination. The exhibition space of the Aquarium is intended for the presentation of the permanent exhibition of aquatic fauna and flora, but also for temporary exhibitions with various topics related to biology, aquatic ecology and marine fishing. Over time, the Constanta Aquarium has gathered over 100 species of fish and marine creatures that belong to different geographical areas. Taking into account ecological, biogeographic and taxonomic criteria, the Aquarium is structured in three sections: Marine, Sweet and Exotic Fish. DOLPHINARIUM - approx. distance 11Km
Constanta began its activity on June 1, 1972, being the first museum form of its kind in the country and the first in Southeast Europe at that time. In the amphitheater with swimming pool and in the indoor pool, demonstrations with dolphins and sea lions are organized. Three subspecies of dolphins live in the Black Sea, namely the porpoise, the common dolphin and the aphid. The Constanţa Dolphinarium hosted in its pools all three species of dolphin from the Black Sea. The first were the porpoises (Phocoena phocoena relicta) and the common dolphins (Delphinus delphis ponticus), and almost 20 years ago the aphids or large dolphins were brought, as the species Tursiops truncatus ponticus, of which Mark was also a part, was called. the veteran and star of the Dolphinarium until 2009. The new hall surrounding the pool where the two dolphins, Ni Ni and Chen Chen, performs has doubled its capacity from 600 seats in the past to 1300 seats today and it can be used both in summer and in winter. MICRORESERVE - approx. distance 11Km
Within the Museum Complex of Natural Sciences Constanţa, starting with 1985, a Microreservation entered the public circuit, which covers an area of about 12 ha, of which 2 ha represent a luster of water with marshy vegetation. This objective was created with the idea of offering visitors a more complex picture of the nature of Dobrogea.
The patrimony of this objective has the aquatic avifauna (pelicans, swans, ducks and wild geese), terrestrial avifauna (peacocks, pheasants) and mammals (mouflons, shovel deer, deer), which are found in the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve and Negureni Reserve. Most of these specimens are monuments of nature and rare species with a declining representation in natural biotopes. Some specimens were obtained through exchanges with other zoos and others were purchased or donated. Every year, many specimens belonging to various species (mouflons, shovel deer) have been reproduced and bred in captivity. In 2010, a specimen of Mongolian horse Equus prijewalsky was brought from Dorici / Bulgaria.
All these "tenants" benefit from "accommodation" spaces according to European regulations, the current trend being the elimination of concrete platforms and surrounding metal bars. Currently, this section is also in full moderation and in continuous activity of increasing and diversifying the staff. It is intended that this natural setting becomes not only a visiting area but also a relaxing and even recreational area, to spend free time in an educational and pleasant way. During the summer season, on the natural lake inside the Microreserve you can admire the colonies of pelicans and swans floating majestically. In the cold season, all avifauna specimens benefit from heated shelters.
In addition to the leisure and relaxation side, at the Microreserve there are also organized visits of pupils and students to complete the biology information with the help of our specialists. At the same time, the active involvement in the volunteer programs, makes the animal lovers able to participate in their supervised feeding, being part of the diet established for each species. A rescue center was also set up in the department to house and quarantine specimens brought by various people, especially in the cold season.
Within the Microreservation you can find, in a special natural setting, a number of 86 species with a population of over 460 specimens.
PLANETARIUM - approx. distance 11Km
A window permanently open to the sky

Within the Museum Complex of Natural Sciences Constanţa, starting with 1982, the Exotic Birds and Decoration Exhibition located in the immediate vicinity of the Microreservation entered the tourist circuit. On a covered area of over 300 square meters, in large aviaries, with adequate compartmentalization for food, nesting, flight and rest, you can admire representatives of different species of birds from Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, New Guinea and South America.
